Logistics Advisor

 

JOB TITLE: LOGISTICS ADVISOR

BASIC HOURS: 8:00am – 5:00pm (45 minute Lunch), 41.25 hours per week

REPORTS TO: Logistics Supervisor

GENERAL:

The Logistics Advisor is responsible for assisting the Logistics Supervisor to ensure that orders are despatched on time but specifically that the shed deliveries are delivered smoothly, efficiently and within the lead times specified.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To monitor new orders on the pick list within our in-house system.
  • To route these deliveries and contact the customers to inform them of delivery dates.
  • Print off driver's manifests for each round daily.
  • Complete a driver debrief daily at the end of each day.
  • Report POD's daily from each driver.
  • Check all returns into the warehouse and grade accordingly advising supply chain to add to stock if necessary.
  • Liaise with external services and call centre regarding ETA's etc.
  • Update Logistics Supervisor re stock issues.
  • Ensure all pick lists are current and orders are delivered within lead times.
Plus any other duties that the Logistics Supervisor / Manager or Directors may require to be carried out.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Previous experience of working in a logistics / transport planning office essential.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Professional manner on the telephone.
  • Computer literate - able to use MS Word and Excel.
  • Able to work under pressure and without supervision.
