Junior Database Developer / DBA

JOB TITLE: JUNIOR DATABASE DEVELOPER / DBA

BASIC HOURS:

8.00am to 5.00pm or 8.30am to 5.30pm (45 minute lunch as allowed, 41.25 hours per week)

We are looking for a Junior Database Developer with proven MS SQL Server skills to join our rapidly growing technology team. This is a ground floor opportunity with huge potential.

• Support the company's operations group by troubleshooting day to day data issues and development of utility procedures for ad hoc requests identifying opportunities for tools and automation of tasks.
• Learn and develop best practises for using and administering MS SQL 2005 features including core database features, Service broker,SSIS, Database mail, analysis and reporting services.
• Maintain database security policies and rpocedures. Protect data using certificates and encryption.
• Collaborate with business, creative, marketing, merchandising and development teams, providing technical support and advise on accessing and leveraging our database assets.
• Development and implementation of database objects and jobs.
• Ongoing database tuning and performance monitoring.

• Database developer / administrator with focus and strength in development and maintenance of highly scaleable, high optimised database using MS SQL Server.
• Strong analytical skills.
• High degree of technical aptitude, troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
• Experience in e-commerce development with significant plus.
• Experience with MS SQL Server 2005 features is a plus.
• 2 - 4 years of SQL Server database administration experience.
• Desire to work in high energy start up environment.
• Positive, people oriented and energetic.

• Highly analytical, creative and innotive in solving problems.
