Kybotech a manufacturer and online retailer of garden, home and leisure products is supporting disaster relief in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest storms ever recorded, left a trail of destruction.

Kybotech director William Walton has said the company is “pursuing many avenues to raise funds to support the British Red Cross Typhoon Haiyan Appeal, one of which is to donate £2.00 for every product we sell from the Kybotech ecommerce sites”.

Thousands of people are thought to have been killed by the typhoon which hit the country last Friday with a 300 mile wide force. The eastern island of Leyte and the coastal city of Tacloban are the areas thought to be most affected.
“When we heard about the great destruction the typhoon had caused we knew we had to help in any way we can and encourage others to help too,” Added Walton. Typhoon Haiyan has now passed the islands but there are fears of continued problems. Haiyan brought sustained winds of 200mph with gusts of 240 mph and waves as high as 15m. In some places, as much as 15.75 inches of rain fell.

Kybotech will be monitoring the support in the Philippines and continuing its efforts to raise more funds to support those who are in need.  Mr Walton urged “we hope that all our efforts will help those worst affected”.
